I did this wood burned drawing on a small plaque that I had picked from the craft store for a couple of dollars. It was made of thin plywood but I liked the shape of it. I did a little doodle art on one side and painted the surrounding area with white gesso which made the drawing pop out.
Then I decided to wood burn the other side. That is the nice thing about using wood as a substrate. You can draw on both sides. I used the same lotus motif but added a lot of details including a verse in Sanskrit from Yogasutra. I also colored some parts of the art. A fun little project. Thanks for visiting.
Wow- that plaque is amazing. I tried wood burning a couple of times but mine never looked that good. You did a beautiful job. :) Erika
